Censors in all fields, in all countries, are often accused of being out of touch with reality. In fact, given their exposure to uncensored material, they are sometimes more aware of the problems of censorship than the public. They are also in a position to take action.
The end of censorship in Myanmar was brought about by the office responsible for censorship. Of course, they could not proceed without the implicit approval of the government, but they deserve credit for observing the mood of the government and taking action. Read the full story here:
